Mental Illness and Law Enforcement (M.I.L.E.S.) Conference
Sponsored by Pacific Clinics each Fall, this conference brings together behavioral healthcare and law enforcement professionals, consumers, and advocates to improve community communication, collaboration, and education for services to people in crises and their families. The Extra M.I.L.E.(s) Recognition Awards honor those who go the "extra mile" in their daily work to improve the quality of service to people and families living with mental illness.
M.I.L.E.S. is a partnership among the San Gabriel Valley Police Chiefs' Association, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Pacific Clinics, and is guided by input from other mental health and law enforcement agencies and the M.I.L.E.S. Steering Committee.
Spirituality and Mental Health Conference
Spirituality, faith, and sense of hope are often overlooked as contributing to recovery from a mental illness. Sponsored by Pacific Clinics every two years, this conference calls attention to the key role that spiritual beliefs and religious traditions
play in mental and physical healing. Topics presented by diverse spiritual, medical and mental health professionals strengthen professional counseling skills. Brochure
