Consumer/Family Education/Training Opportunities
Consumers/clients/members are individuals engaged in Pacific Clinics programs and services -- consumers and their families
are encouraged to take an active part in educating themselves about behavioral illness through enriched learning and training opportunities. These are in addition to the family education components of Pacific Clinics multicultural and other on-site programs.

Family Education Series
Held in Pasadena, this lecture series provides expert talks on serious mental illness and offers practical
solutions for families coping with the care of loved ones. Call (626) 793-5141 for program details and schedule.
Familias Unidas Education Course
To help Latino families understand mental illness and learn of available community resources, the eight educational English/Spanish language sessions provide detailed information on symptoms, treatment, and resources within a caring community. Call (626) 254-5000 for details and schedule. Spanish language educational videos are available for purchase through Pacific Clinics educational materials for purchase.
Consumer Boards
Giving voice to clients and families, the Quality Assurance Boards, F.A.C.E.S., and mini-Boards at various sites provide valuable training in leadership skills and protocols for making consumer voices heard in shaping the policies and programs of Pacific Clinics. Many members also actively participate in community mental health boards and advisory committees. Board members are sponsored and funded by Pacific Clinics to attend regional, state, and national conferences and report back new information to enrich Pacific Clinics and the Boards.
Anti-Stigma Speakers Group
Volunteer consumer members conduct information and education campaigns to raise awareness of mental health
issues among government officials and the public. With guidance from Toastmasters International, members' leadership and speaking skills are strengthened in a supportive environment
to gain confidence. Trained speakers are available for presentations to community groups.
