Pacific Clinics’ Housing Services Department helps homeless consumers and their families secure a safe place to live and rebuild their lives by providing emergency, transitional and permanent supportive housing. Permanent housing is provided through HUD Homeless Section 8 and Shelter Plus Care programs. In addition, the Housing Services Department currently master leases nineteen properties that provide 100 transitional housing beds for transitional age youth and adults and also collaborates with motels, property management companies and private landlords.
Once they are approved for housing, some consumers require further assistance, including making their security deposits or obtaining household items to ease their transition to a new life. We provide that assistance, as well as money management and vocational services designed to help consumers develop the skills and strengths essential to achieve their personal goals.
The Housing Services Department has served approximately 2,000 homeless individuals and families in its first five years of operation.
The Department gratefully accepts:
- Furniture: tables, dressers, night stands, bookshelves and sofas
- Appliances: Refrigerators and stoves
- Small electronics: TVs, radios, and microwaves
- Basic kitchen utensils, dishes, cookware, silverware
- Linens: towels, wash cloths, sheets, blankets, comforter sets
- Hygiene items
- Cleaning supplies
- Food items: basic condiments, spices, pasta, flour, sugar, coffee, tea
- Welcome baskets with a collection of small items
