Arcadia, CA-February 1, 2005-Pacific Clinics President/CEO Susan Mandel, Ph.D., announced that San Bernardino County Mental Health Commissioner May Farr has joined Pacific Clinics Board of Directors effective January 25, 2005. Ms. Farr has been a strong mental health advocate since the 1990's. She is very active in the NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) Inland Valley chapter and assisted its start-up in the region. Farr also works on the Dual Diagnosis Committee, Criminal Justice Committee and initiated mental health and drug courts for San Bernardino County and is now assisting in starting a homeless court. She is a Board member of the California Association of Local Mental Health Boards and Commissions (CALMHB/C) and a member of the Northridge Hospital Community Board in the San Fernando Valley. Additionally, she sits on the Los Angeles County Coordinating Committee, a committee of all NAMI groups in Los Angeles County. Farr's background as a nurse has proven to be beneficial in her advocacy work. She received her BSN from the University of Utah. She received psychiatric training at the State Hospital in Provo, Utah. Pacific Clinics is a private non-profit behavioral health care agency serving the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino. Programs offered in San Bernardino County include Child & Family Services of the Morongo Valley with clinic locations in 29 Palms, Ontario and Yucca Valley. Consumer Clubhouse services are also available to mentally ill adults in Yucca Valley and Rialto. | ||
