USC School of Social Work Names
Pacific Clinics 2006 Agency of the Year

Arcadia, CA-April 25, 2007-The University of Southern California School of Social Work has selected Pacific Clinics to receive its 2006 Agency of the Year Award. The prestigious award is presented to an agency that excels in providing field education to the School's Master's level students.

The USC School of Social Work has an extensive relationship with Pacific Clinics. "Pacific Clinics' field training program is exemplary. They are in the forefront of treatment of their consumers utilizing the psycho-social model and the inclusion of current field research in their practices," stated USC School of Social Work Assistant Dean, Micki Gress, Ph.D.

"We are so honored to receive this award," exclaimed Pacific Clinics' Director of Social Work and MFT Training, Dianne Golden, LCSW. "There is a growing need for trained professionals in this field because a recent study by the National Association of Social Workers states that one-third of active social workers will be retiring in the next ten years" she added. The nine-month program, coordinated by Ms. Golden, provides 30 interns from various schools with the opportunity to develop their professional skills by working directly with consumers. Pacific Clinics has been providing the Master's level graduate internship program for clinical social workers since 1956.

Pacific Clinics, established in 1926, is a private non-profit behavioral healthcare agency serving people of all ages with severe mental illnesses in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties.
