Educational Programs

Educational Programs provide students with the skills they need to live successful lives. Our robust programs include early childhood development, classroom consultations in partnership with school districts, adult continuing education programs and parent workshops.

Support Services

Support Services offer various programs to address social determinants of health, including housing and employment coaching and placement, among other critically needed services.

CBS News Bay Area/KPIX-TV’s Brian Hackney interviewed former Ming Quong Home resident Janet Chang, who shares her extraordinary story of coming to the South Bay Area refuge, and how doing so changed the trajectory of her life.

“We are proud of the Ming Quong legacy, and we think the spirit of those children that we served lives on today,” said Director of Development Darren DeMonsi.

In 1934, the Ming Quong Home in Los Gatos, Calif. was established as a safe haven for Chinese, Chinese-American and Chinese bi-racial girls who, for a variety of reasons, needed a safe place apart from their families. Fast forward to 1987, Ming Quong Home in Los Gatos merged with the Eastfield Children’s Home and became Eastfield Ming Quong (EMQ) Children and Family Services – then EMQ FamiliesFirst, Uplift Family Services and now, Pacific Clinics.
