We also offer programs for those seeking licensure to become a psychiatric technician, and clinical mental health placements for student Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. Psychology
The Pacific Clinics Doctoral Psychology Internship Program trains interns to provide community-based mental health services to consumers of all ages. Seasoned professionals from a broad range of disciplines guide the program and provide supervision to the interns. We invite candidates enrolled in an American Psychological Association-accredited Ph.D. or Psy.D. graduate psychology program to apply. The internship has been APA accredited since 1988 and is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). In 2017, the psychology internship was awarded an additional 10 years of APA accreditation status.

Social Work
Pacific Clinics’ nationally recognized Social Work Internship Program offers:

Psychiatric Technicians (PT)
At Pacific Clinics, licensed psychiatric technician (PT) candidates receive valuable clinical training in a variety of community settings among diverse populations and age groups. In partnership with Mt. San Antonio College, the program rotates candidates through various Pacific Clinics sites leading to their PT degree and licensure.
PT candidates acquire practical field experience in crisis intervention, medications administration and consumer education. Working under the supervision of highly experienced behavioral health professionals, candidates also participate in counseling and several treatment interventions with individuals and families.

Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT)
Pacific Clinics offers Marriage and Family Therapy graduate training positions in the San Gabriel Valley (Pasadena, Monrovia, Santa Fe Springs, Rosemead, El Monte, and other locations).
MFT Trainees can expect to work with adults with an array of diagnoses such as schizophrenia, psychosis disorders, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorders. We also serve children dealing with issues related to ADHD, oppositional defiance disorders, anxiety, and mood disorders.
The MFT Practicum program begins in September of each year. It is a year-long, 20-hours-per-week training program aimed at providing student trainees with clinical, team-oriented, real-world experience.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (NP)
Pacific Clinics was awarded a grant from the State of California, Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) to expand the capacity of PMHNP programs. These programs develop and implement mental healthcare workforce development strategies to address regional needs by strengthening recruitment, training, education, and retention of the public mental health system workforce.
The PMHNP internship program partners with the Azusa Pacific University; California State University, Los Angeles; and California State University, Long Beach.
