Vicarious Trauma and Compassion Fatigue: Tools for Law Enforcement, First Responders and Behavioral Health Professionals
Constant exposure to witnessing or hearing about others’ trauma can take a toll on law enforcement, first responders and behavioral health professionals – the very people who are helping others to recover from trauma. Caring for oneself is a necessary and critical part of the job in order to maintain mental and emotional well-being. Increase your ability to practice self-care by learning about the vicarious trauma toolkit. After attending this training, you will be able to:
- Communicate effectively about vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue and its impact on employee wellness.
- Advocate for policies and procedures to address vicarious trauma in the workplace.
- Utilize strategies to maintain wellness in a stressful occupation.
Who should attend:
Law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, medical professionals, and behavioral health professionals.
The Conference is free to all attendees! Breakfast is included.
