Pacific Clinics recently held its annual fundraiser, Hearts & Hands Spring Celebration, which raised more than $482,000 for Bay Area programs supporting children and families in crisis.
During the sold-out event, which took place at the scenic Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose, guests were treated to wine, a delicious buffet-style meal, live music from the Burroughs Brothers, and a live auction with luxurious vacation offerings in Mexico and Hawaii.
Attendees also heard from Josie Bravo, a resource parent who has fostered 17 boys, three of whom she and her husband have adopted. After bouncing between foster homes for many years, one of Josie’s three sons, Alex, said, “The adoption felt like a second chance, like a rebirth kind of moment to me. To let go of my past or move forward.”
With the help of the Bravo family and the Pacific Clinics Foster Care and Adoption program, Alex graduated from high school and is now attending San Jose State University, where he continues to thrive.
Each year, Pacific Clinics helps more than 8,000 children, adults and families in Santa Clara County who are struggling with mental and behavioral health challenges, food and housing insecurity and untreated trauma. Funds raised at this event will support our Neurodevelopmental Services, Mobile Crisis Services, Foster Care and Adoption Services, the Hope Drop-In Center, Family Resource Centers, Celebrating Families, and the Wellspring fund, which helps families with emergency items such as food, blankets, clothing, diapers, and supplies for hygiene and school.
“Events like this remind us all that we are not alone in our agency’s mission,” said Senior Fund Development Director Darren DeMonsi. “When we come together in support of children and families, it’s a powerful reminder that our community stands with us every step of the way.”
