Pacific Clinics celebrated the grand opening of a new Family Resource Center in San Bernardino County. The Pacific Clinics Resource Center was designed to be a welcoming space where families can access mental health support, build meaningful relationships, and engage in personal development.
This location offers programs and services, including Military Services and Family Support, Familias Unidas, Celebrating Families, Success First/Early Wraparound, Wraparound, Seven Challenges, Family Support Initiatives (First 5) and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS).
More than 50 attendees, including employees, community leaders and representatives from local and state officers, joined the celebration.
The team greeted guests with smiles, tacos and agua frescas in the breezeway between the new family resource center and Pacific Clinics’ administration building.
Pacific Clinics’ Laura Pancake, chief clinical officer and Maria Murillo, executive director, interior California, spoke about the longtime partnership with the County and Pacific Clinics’ presence in the area. Additionally, Pacific Clinics was presented with recognition awards from Prince Ogidikpe, senior representative from Senator Eloise Gómez Reyes’ office and Alex Smith, representative from Assembly Member James Ramos’ office; as well as Mark Faucette from the Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program. They all shared remarks highlighting the center’s importance for families in San Bernardino County.
Afterwards, attendees explored the center’s different therapy rooms, where employees and informational posters highlighted the services and programs available. An arts and crafts table was also set up, allowing guests to paint small pots to take home as a keepsake from the celebration.
Other attendees included Mario Flores, San Bernardino city councilmember; Gwendolyn Rodgers, Ed.D., San Bernardino County superintendent of Schools Board of Education; Allie Mink, behavioral health commission chair representative for the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health; Rochelle Bernadette, Elizabeth Aguilar Godinez, and Eloisa Contreras, also from the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health; and Ronnie Robinson from First 5 San Bernardino.
“Today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrates our commitment to expanding access to critical resources for children, youth and families in San Bernardino,” said Maria Murillo. “The research- and evidence-based family center model will empower us to provide trauma-informed and culturally relevant mental and behavioral health services to more families for years to come.”
The celebration concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially launching the center.
