Pacific Clinics is excited to announce that we have relocated and hosted a grand opening of our new Clubhouse and Family Resource Center (FRC) in Yucca Valley, which provides mental health services to veterans, active-duty military members and their families.
The grand opening event welcomed community members who use the center and clubhouse, along with several distinguished guests. Elected officials and government representatives included Glen Harris, county supervisor for Dawn Rowe, and members of the Yucca Valley Town Council, as well as representatives from the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health, including Kristen Mungal and Maribel Gutierrez. Additional attendees included Elizabeth Colgrove and Kiki Covington from Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP); Diana Anderson and Sheree Fansler of Morongo Basin Healthcare District; and Tania Leysen from Valley Star.
The new center and clubhouse provide services to adults 18 and older with lived experience of mental health challenges.
The clubhouse services include peer support, resource assistance, access to a computer lab, daily lunches, and shower and laundry facilities. Whether individuals are seeking new support or looking to stay connected, the center offers a welcoming space designed with the community in mind.
The center is committed to supporting veterans and their families, particularly those who face challenges accessing care through military channels. The program provides free therapy and counseling to all ages without the need of insurance. This includes services for conditions such as schizophrenia and post-traumatic stress disorder.
“People who walk through our doors tell us how meaningful it is to receive care that treats them as whole individuals,” said Alexzander Martin, community health worker at the family resource center. “Some people who have served in the military, or who are currently enlisted, feel that the support they’re receiving here is more holistic and has been life changing.”
The Yucca Valley Family Resource Center and Clubhouse is just one example of how integrated, community-based care can make a lasting difference in the lives of those who have served.
If you would like to receive any of the services or would like to come check out the new clubhouse, drop-ins are welcomed.
