Pacific Clinics hosted its annual Volunteer Recognition Event, a celebration of our exceptional auxiliary store volunteers, at the Campbell Community Center. These dedicated, mission-minded community members have come together to run three different retail stores across Los Gatos and San Jose, donating tens of thousands of man hours and raising a combined $950,000+ for our Santa Clara County-based programs just last year.
The event, which brought together 130 volunteers from the Happy Dragon Thrift Shop, the Unicorn Thrift Shop, and the EMQ Auxiliary (The Butter Paddle), featured an awards ceremony honoring volunteers who demonstrated their willingness to go above and beyond to further the mission of their store and Pacific Clinics. Attendees also heard from a parent who, along with her child, shared their moving story of participating in Pacific Clinics’ Celebrating Families! program, which helps families impacted by substance use disorders with a curriculum encompassing education and skill development. This important program is one of several that auxiliary funds support, as well as Neurodevelopmental Services, Crisis Stabilization Services, Foster Care and Adoption Services, the Hope Drop-In Center, and the “We Care” fund, which helps families with emergency items such as food, blankets, clothing, diapers, and supplies for hygiene and school.
“Our volunteers give so much more than their time — they give hope,” said Director of Development Maricris Morrison. “Each hour they spend making sales, sorting donations or greeting customers directly impacts the lives of children and families in our community, and we are endlessly thankful for them and the heart they bring to our mission.”

Volunteers at Pacific Clinics’ auxiliaries are hardworking, caring individuals who want to make their community and world a little brighter for children, individuals and families in need.
Butter Paddle volunteer Dottie Barney said, “Being a volunteer helps strengthen my community and improves the lives of kids and families who are struggling, but it is also a great way to make friends, learn new skills and feel happier and healthier!”
