darren demonsi fund development directorCAMPBELL, CA, February 2, 2021 – Darren DeMonsi has been promoted to Director of Fund Development for the Bay Area region of Uplift Family Services.

In the expansion of his current role, he will lead all fund development activities for the region.

“This role expansion is well-deserved. Darren is conscientious, easy to approach, very knowledgeable, presents well at events and in the community, and always has a respectful way of approaching donors,” said long-time Board of Directors member Donna Butcher.

DeMonsi has provided 18 years of mission-driven, quality service at Uplift Family Services, managing multiple aspects of fund development—ranging from recruiting and managing volunteers, developing and managing successful events, submitting and receiving grant awards, successfully managing a major gifts portfolio, supporting three auxiliary stores, and more.

“Working with donors and volunteers to affect profound and meaningful change for children and families in our community has been a gift; I couldn’t imagine a more rewarding career,” said DeMonsi. “I’ve been truly blessed to be a part of the Uplift family for so long.”

A graduate of Colby College, DeMonsi received a master’s degree in American Indian Studies from the University of Arizona in 2000. After serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer and AmeriCorps Fellow, he joined Uplift Family Services in 2002 as a volunteer, assisting with gift processing and database management for the fund development department, as well as lifeguarding at the pool for the residential cottages in Los Gatos. He was hired full time as a Development Associate in 2003, and has since served as Development Manager and Associate Director. He has been a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 2013, and is currently a member of AFP Silicon Valley.

DeMonsi currently resides with his wife, Janice, and his 13-year-old neurodiverse son, Evan, in Scotts Valley. He works out of Uplift Family Services’ Los Gatos office.
