In celebration of Foster Santa’s 40th year of bringing bikes to at-risk and foster youth throughout Northern California, volunteers spent the day building bikes to deliver to nearly 300 children throughout the Sacramento region this holiday season. Foster Santa began in 1975 and has brought magical holiday memories to thousands of kids in Northern California.

At the bike build, a number of volunteer groups from the Sacramento Police Department, Sacramento Wheelmen and Dynacraft came together to assemble, tune-up and inspect bikes that will be distributed at two events later this month.

Foster Santa is made possible because of generous sponsors, donors and volunteers. Huge thanks to the Sacramento Police Department, Union Pacific Railroad, Sacramento Wheelmen, Dynacraft, and to Ethan Conrad Properties for their continued support of Foster Santa. A huge thanks also goes out to Togo’s, Starbucks and Dos Coyotes who donated food and beverages for the volunteers at the bike build.

Take a moment and watch some of the media coverage from ABC News 10, KCRA, KFBK and the Sacramento Bee at the Foster Santa bike build.

Thank you to everyone who came together to help bring holiday magic to kids this season!
