Educational Programs

Educational Programs provide students with the skills they need to live successful lives. Our robust programs include early childhood development, classroom consultations in partnership with school districts, adult continuing education programs and parent workshops.

Support Services

Support Services offer various programs to address social determinants of health, including housing and employment coaching and placement, among other critically needed services.

As part of our succession planning, Pacific Clinics’ Board of Directors unanimously named Chief Executive Officer Kathy McCarthy’s successor, President/Chief Operations Officer Shawn M. Caracoza. With over 30 years of experience, including nearly 19 years at Pacific Clinics, Shawn has been instrumental in shaping the agency’s growth so we are better able to deliver high-quality programs on a greater scale. 

“This appointment is an important part of our long-term leadership planning, and it ensures strong continuity for Pacific Clinics,” says Kathy, who plans to retire from her position as CEO at the end of 2027. “Shawn’s deep understanding of our mission and commitment to innovation make him the ideal person to help guide our agency into the future.” 

Together alongside CEO Kathy McCarthy, Shawn will partner to lead the agency for the next 18 months through the transition.  

“I’m honored to continue working with Kathy as I step into this expanded role to continue to build on our strong foundation, ensuring Pacific Clinics remains a trusted partner for individuals, families and communities,” says Shawn. 

Throughout his career, Shawn has held various senior- and executive-level roles at different agencies, including the Children’s InstituteThe Guidance Center and Crittenton Services 

He serves on the board of directors for the California Council of Community Behavioral Health Agencies, a statewide association of nonprofit agencies dedicated to providing mental health and substance use disorder programs and services.  

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Caracoza holds a bachelor’s degree from Drake University and a master’s degree from the University of Southern California.
