Pacific Clinics’ Unicorn Thrift Shop in San Jose’s Almaden Valley has launched an updated website, making it easier for shoppers, donors and prospective volunteers to discover the shop and learn how their support benefits children and families in Santa Clara County.
Founded in 1993 by a small group of local women looking to make a difference, Unicorn Thrift Shop has grown into a community institution powered by more than 80 active volunteers. Over the past three decades, the shop has raised nearly $5 million to support Pacific Clinics’ behavioral health and social services.
The volunteer-run shop offers an ever-changing selection of donated clothing, jewelry, books, toys, home decor, collectibles and other treasures. Proceeds support Pacific Clinics programs including Foster Care and Adoption Services, Neurodevelopmental Services, Hope Drop-in Center, and Family Resource Centers.
The updated website offers visitors a closer look at the shop’s history and community impact, along with more user-friendly navigation and information about merchandise, donation guidelines and volunteer opportunities.
“The Unicorn Thrift Shop is one of our cherished auxiliaries run entirely by volunteers. They dedicate countless hours to making sure that the customer experience is of the highest quality and the store is meeting its goal of raising income for underserved kids and families,” said Bay Area Senior Director of Development Darren DeMonsi. “The new website is a critical platform for advertising and reaching new customers.”
Whether you’re searching for a vintage find, giving gently used items a second life or looking for a way to volunteer, Unicorn Thrift Shop offers an opportunity to support local kids and families.
