1. Sensors:
Small sensors are placed on your scalp to assess your brain functioning.
2. Feedback
The system provides real-time feedback based on your brain activity. This feedback is gentle and often not noticeable.
3. Self-Regulation
Over time, your brain learns to adjust its activity, which can lead to improvements in mood, focus and overall mental health. It’s a non-invasive, relaxing process, and many people find it helpful for issues like anxiety, stress, and attention.
Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) is an FDA-approved, non-invasive, direct neurofeedback system developed by Ochs Labs. LENS is designed to help regulate the brain, improve cognitive and emotional functions, while restoring it to optimal performance. LENS can be used alone or in conjunction with medication and psychotherapy, providing an additional tool to promote flexible thinking and improved brain health.
LENS is a type of neurofeedback that operates more rapidly than traditional neurofeedback. With traditional neurofeedback, you are required to actively focus for 30-60 minutes during a session. LENS is passive and does not require you to “do” anything. As you relax, a very low electromagnetic signal is delivered to the brain. Then the brain naturally does all the work for you to self-regulate, reorganize and restore to optimal function. LENS sessions are brief, and do not require you to sit for long periods of time.
Your provider will provide a recommendation based on your symptoms. Treatment on average lasts 10-40 sessions. LENS sessions are conducted one to two times per week.
