Pacific Clinics now oversees 24/7 Mobile Crisis Services and the Crisis Stabilization Unit

Nevada County Behavioral Health has selected Pacific Clinics as its new contracted provider for behavioral health crisis services, including the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), which reopens today.

The CSU is a safe, voluntary place for adults ages 18 and older experiencing a mental health crisis to receive short-term support and stabilization services, including crisis and nursing assessments, coping strategies, safety planning, short-term care and referrals to community resources. For the first time, the CSU will also offer peer support partners, giving adults the opportunity to connect with someone who has faced similar challenges and understands what they are going through.

“We know how critical it is for people experiencing a crisis to have access to compassionate support in a safe, welcoming environment,” said Pacific Clinics’ Executive Director of Crisis Services Mae Sampani. “We look forward to working alongside Nevada County and our community partners to support individuals and families when they need it most.”

“We are pleased to welcome Pacific Clinics as Nevada County’s new provider of crisis services and to reopen the Crisis Stabilization Unit to our community,” said Director of Behavioral Health and Homelessness for Nevada County Behavioral Health Cari Yardley, PsyD. “The CSU remains a vital part of our crisis‑care continuum, offering timely, accessible support for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies. As we prepare to expand this continuum with the upcoming Deer Creek Behavioral Health Center—designed to support those in acute crisis—we are strengthening our ability to provide compassionate, high‑quality care close to home.”

CSU services can be accessed through the below options:

  • In-person walk-in assessments are available 24/7 at the CSU located at 145 Glasson Way, Grass Valley, next door to the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Emergency Department entrance.
  • Referral through the Emergency Department at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital
  • Calling the CSU direct line at 530-997-1055

Pacific Clinics will also provide 24/7 Mobile Crisis services in Nevada County beginning November 1. People experiencing a behavioral health crisis can access the Mobile Crisis Team by calling the 24-hour Crisis Line at 530-265-5811.
