Pacific Clinics’ Head Start Family Child Care Specialist Emily Blackwell was awarded the Region 9 Head Start Association’s Legacy Scholarship in the amount of $1,700. Emily was one of many who was awarded the scholarship to provide financial support in her educational endeavors. She earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood development from California State University, Northridge, and is currently obtaining her master’s degree in child and adolescent developmental psychology from Northcentral University.
“This scholarship means that against the odds, there are people who believe in you. In this day and age where it’s easy to feel like you’re facing challenges alone, it means the world to me knowing that there are people who acknowledge my potential and are willing to offer their support,” Emily says. “Being selected is the most rewarding and humbling feeling! Thank you R9HSA!”
The scholarship is awarded to exceptional individuals who are dedicated to continuing their education and professional development.
