Laughter, smiles and good spirits were on the menu as seven Uplift Family Services families were treated to an evening of food, family, and fun at Nick’s Next Door. Owner and chef Nick Difu served up a five course meal for kids and parents.

The meal started with wild mushroom risotto croquettes followed by short ribs. The main course was salmon and pan roasted rib eye over whipped potatoes, french fries for the kids, and sautéed broccolini.  Finally for dessert, guests enjoyed chocolate peanut butter mousse, and vanilla panna cotta.

After dinner, Nick answered questions from the kids, took them on a tour of the kitchen and backrooms, and spoke about achieving your dreams despite personal obstacles. One guest praised Nick and the wonderful experience he gave the families by saying, “What a night! The food was amazing, the wait staff was attentive and the kitchen went out of their way to accommodate special diets and children’s palates. What an amazing and generous man Nick Difu is – probably one of the best evenings I have had with my family in a long time. Nick’s generosity and genuine character were heart warming!”

Thanks to Nick and his outstanding staff for giving our families a wonderful meal and a night to remember!
