Navigating growing up can be tricky and so can parenting a teenager. Adolescence brings significant transitions that can be challenging for both youth and their families.

Pacific Clinics’ Familias Unidas program provides a free, evidence-based approach to strengthening family bonds and supporting Hispanic/Latinx families with youth. The program’s sessions are designed to equip adolescents and their families with the tools they need to foster stronger connections and successfully navigate the challenges of adolescence.

Who Does Familias Unidas Serve?

The program is specifically tailored for Hispanic/Latinx families with adolescents in grades 8-12 (ages 12-17). Discussions are in person and conducted in Spanish, ensuring accessibility and cultural relevance for all attendees.

When and Where Are Sessions Held?

Sessions take place at Pacific Clinics’ San Bernardino location:
572 N. Arrowhead Ave., Suite 100, San Bernardino, CA 92401
Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Why Choose Familias Unidas?

The program focuses on:

  • Preparing adolescents for life transitions
  • Reducing behavioral challenges
  • Equipping parents to protect their children from drug use and risky behaviors
  • Strengthening parental involvement in their children’s school and social lives

Freddy Reyes, team supervisor for Familias Unidas, has witnessed firsthand the program’s positive impact. “Since starting the program, families have shared that they communicate more openly with their teenagers, experience fewer conflicts and feel more connected with them,” he said. “It’s amazing to see parents and teens strengthen their relationships and build a foundation of trust.”
