Los Angeles City Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez recently visited Pacific Clinics’ Hollygrove campus, underscoring a shared commitment to expanding access to behavioral health services for children, youth and families across Los Angeles.
During the visit, Councilmember Soto-Martinez and Planning Deputy Ted Walker toured Hollygrove with Amy Sanchez, senior vice president of clinical strategy and growth; Mariana Shpall, executive director of the Los Angeles–West Region, LynCentro, Portals and Child and Family Specialty Programs; and Alejandro Lucas, vice president of the Los Angeles/South Coast Region. Together, they discussed Hollygrove’s longstanding role in supporting young people and families, the behavioral health needs facing communities across Los Angeles and Pacific Clinics’ vision for the future.
“We’re grateful to Councilmember Soto-Martinez for taking the time to visit Hollygrove and learn about our vision for the future,” Amy said. “The more leaders understand what children and families are experiencing, the better we can work together to make sure they get the support they need.”
Councilmember Soto-Martinez has been a vocal supporter of mental health awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding behavioral health care. Earlier this year, he introduced the City Council resolution establishing Metta World Peace Day during Mental Health Awareness Month, recognizing the former NBA champion’s efforts to encourage open conversations about seeking help. Pacific Clinics previously honored Metta World Peace with its 2019 Champions of Mental Health award for raising awareness and inspiring others to seek support.
Pacific Clinics is grateful to Councilmember Soto-Martinez and Planning Deputy Walker for taking the time to learn more about Hollygrove’s work and the critical role community-based behavioral health services play in helping children, youth and families thrive.
