Support Services

Support Services offer various programs to address social determinants of health, including housing and employment coaching and placement, among other critically needed services.

Pacific Clinics is excited to announce the launch of a brand new website for one of its beloved auxiliary stores, Happy Dragon Thrift Shop, located in the heart of Los Gatos. This new digital presence makes it easier than ever for community members to connect with the shop, discover its unique offerings and support critical programs serving children, adults and families across Santa Clara County.

Happy Dragon Thrift Shop has long been a hidden gem for vintage lovers, treasure hunters and community-minded shoppers. From carefully curated vintage finds and stylish clothing to home decor, toys, books and art, the shop offers something special for everyone. Proceeds from the Happy Dragon Thrift Shop directly support Pacific Clinics programs, including Foster Care and Adoption ServicesNeurodevelopmental ServicesHope Drop-in CenterFamily Resource Centers and our Wellspring Fund, which offers emergency financial assistance with expenses such as housing, food or medical needs.

“Every purchase made at the shop is an investment in the well-being of children and families in the community,” said Chief Development Officer Mary Anne Chern. “The launch of this website marks an exciting new chapter for the auxiliary, strengthening its ability to generate sustainable funding for Pacific Clinics’ life-changing programs.”

The website also highlights how community involvement fuels the shop’s success, from generous donors who contribute gently used and vintage items, to dedicated volunteers who give their time, to loyal shoppers who understand that their purchases make a difference.

“Happy Dragon is a place where community and compassion meet, and how shopping locally can create meaningful change,” said Chief Communications and Marketing Officer Myeisha Peguero Gamiño. “By expanding our digital presence, we’re creating new opportunities for supporters to explore the store, understand where their dollars go and be a part of something that is positively transforming lives.”

Explore the new website to learn about donation guidelines, volunteer opportunities and the programs your purchases support. Together, our community can turn everyday shopping into extraordinary change.

More About the Happy Dragon Thrift Shop

Ming Quong Guild has operated The Happy Dragon Thrift Shop in Los Gatos since 1958. The guild was founded by mothers and daughters of nearby Los Gatos High School who organized rummage and yard sales to support the Ming Quong Home, which is now Pacific Clinics. To achieve a steadier source of income, the guild rented a small shop in downtown Los Gatos, but after a few years, more space was needed and a down payment of $7,000 was made on a former supply store by redeeming green stamps collected by Presbyterian Mission, an early supporter of the shop. The building has since been enlarged to twice its original size and remains one of the most popular places in Los Gatos to purchase used and vintage clothing, housewares, jewelry, collectibles, records and cassettes, books, children’s toys, games and other items.
